Manhattanville University is pleased to announce the appointment of John Groulx as its new Senior Vice President for Finance and Operational Innovation, effective August 3. In this cabinet-level position, Groulx will serve as Manhattanville’s chief financial officer and strategic advisor to President Frank D. Sánchez, Ph.D., overseeing finance, human resources, facilities, and campus safety while helping advance the institution’s vision for innovation, growth, and operational excellence.
As Senior Vice President for Finance and Operational Innovation, Groulx will partner closely with Manhattanville leadership to advance strategic planning, strengthen operational effectiveness, support innovative academic and institutional initiatives, and ensure the long-term financial health of Manhattanville University. His appointment comes as the University continues a period of significant momentum, marked by enrollment growth and expanding academic programs.
Groulx brings more than two decades of leadership experience spanning higher education, finance, administration, strategic planning, budgeting, capital projects, and organizational transformation. Most recently, he has served as Vice President for Finance and Administration at Virginia Wesleyan University, where he led the institution’s operating and capital budgets, long-range financial planning, and accounting activities. During his tenure at Virginia Wesleyan, Groulx worked closely with the university’s Board committees to manage a $135 million endowment, helped lead the integration of a nursing college, and played a key role in the implementation of Oracle enterprise systems.
