Following a competitive national search, Bill Poirier has been appointed UCF’s next Chief Information Officer. He will officially join Knight Nation on July 28.

Poirier brings more than 30 years of experience spanning education, government, military, and the private sector and a strong track record of leading major technology and organizational transformations. With a reputation for building high performing teams and fostering innovation, he is widely respected for his integrity, transparency and commitment to excellence.

“As we look to the future, Bill’s innovative mindset, collaborative approach, and deep technical expertise will help us further modernize and optimize our academic, research, and administrative systems and technology infrastructure,” UCF President Alexander N. Cartwright says. “I know he will be a trusted leader as we continue to advance our future as Florida’s Premier Engineering and Technology University.”
