The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Westchester Medical Center Health Network and New York Medical College is seeking a dynamic and accomplished physician leader to serve as the Section Chief of Gynecologic Oncology. This is a full-time, clinical-track faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will lead and grow a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program in gynecologic oncology, encompassing clinical care, research, and education. This is a unique opportunity to lead the only academic Gynecologic Oncology division in the region and serve as the lead for Gynecologic Oncology throughout the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.

The role involves overseeing:

  • Clinical Operations
  • Program growth (volume and market share)
  • Faculty recruitment and development
  • Resident education
  • Research initiatives.

Members of the Division enjoy access to advanced surgical technologies with four DaVinci Xi platforms, an outpatient infusion suite where we administer chemotherapy, and a comprehensive radiation therapy center including advanced brachytherapy. All patient care is provided through a multidisciplinary approach including a dedicated tumor board.  We enjoy strong collaboration with both medical oncology and surgical oncology as well as dedicated pathologists and radiologists.

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology is part of a well-established and robust Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  The Department has demonstrated significant growth with over seventy full-time faculty. The Department has a dedicated residency program and was recently approved for a complement increase.  Residents participate in Gynecologic Oncology clinics, manage inpatients, and assist in surgical cases.  

Westchester Medical Center Health Network, under the direction of a new Physician CEO, David Lubarsky MD MBA, is expanding throughout the region with the development of new programs and the building of a new critical care and surgical tower.  The health network is consolidating all oncology programs with the goal of developing a  unified, system-wide cancer center. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of academic achievement, a commitment to excellence in patient care, and a vision for advancing the field of gynecologic oncology. The candidate will serve as the lead for Gynecologic Oncology throughout the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.

Education and Qualifications

  • M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology.
  • Board certification in Gynecologic Oncology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Eligibility for an unrestricted medical license in the state of New York.
  • Significant experience in developing and promoting multidisciplinary teams and fostering an environment of growth.
  • Proven leadership and administrative skills.
  • Strong record of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentorship.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Compensation

Compensation arrangements are competitive and will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and achievements, and responsibilities of this position. The estimated good faith salary range for this position is $600,000- $725,000.
