The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as the organization’s senior financial executive and enterprise financial steward, accountable for financial rigor, operational excellence, governance, and trust across Vocate and its affiliated entities, including Ultimate Medical Academy, American Institute and future portfolio expansions. Vocate operates within a highly regulated higher education and workforce-focused environment, serving students and employers through innovative, outcomes-driven models.
This is a pure CFO role, distinct from a controller or accounting-only profile, with full ownership of financial operations, systems, capital strategy, and institutional risk management, while serving as a key partner in the organization’s next phase of growth, portfolio evolution, and strategic expansion. The CFO also brings a clear understanding of nonprofit structures and compliance requirements, including oversight of nonprofit accounting, reporting (including Forms 990), and regulatory obligations.
The CFO partners closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, as well as the Audit and Finance Committees, acting as a trusted advisor and confidant while maintaining disciplined controls, transparency, and financial credibility. This leader brings maturity, sound judgment, and executive presence and contributes meaningfully to enterprise-level decisions, including active partnership with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and senior leadership team.
This is a full-time position that will be performed either on site in Tampa, FL or remotely, with some travel to Tampa required. A competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, with a generous benefits package, will be offered.
