The Department of Anesthesiology at Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) is seeking a Division Chief, Pediatric Anesthesia. This role will be filled by a Pediatric Anesthesiologist (MD or DO) who is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and has proven experience and significant clinical leadership in pediatric anesthesia.

In collaboration with the Chair of Anesthesiology, the Chief will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Pediatric Anesthesiology program.

This individual will be expected to provide clinical leadership across the multi-hospital system. Successful candidates will have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and will be committed to patient care, the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and to scholarly activities that advance clinical medicine and the medical center's academic visibility. The successful candidate will be appointed to an academic title at New York Medical College, commensurate with experience.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the Division of Pediatric Anesthesia at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and across the WMCHealth network, including affiliated community hospitals
  • Lead recruitment efforts to build an outstanding team of clinical pediatric anesthesiologists
  • Oversee and provide clinical anesthesia care for a high-acuity pediatric case mix, including neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, MRI, and trauma/ICU across 9 operating rooms at the Children’s Hospital
  • Align the pediatric anesthesia service with the broader Department of Anesthesiology and WMCHealth network mission and vision, promoting excellence in operations, culture, mentorship, and national academic engagement
  • Manage call coverage schedules and workload equitably
  • Collaborate closely with nursing leadership, surgical colleagues, and hospital administrators
  • Maintain and advance quality, safety, and outcomes metrics within the pediatric anesthesia division, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care
  • Serves as a mentor for the divisions’ faculty academic advancement


Education and Qualifications

  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree
  • Board Certified in Pediatric Anesthesia
  • In possession of, or eligible for a New York State Medical License
  • Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a growing and fast-paced environment

Compensation

 Compensation arrangements are competitive and will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and achievements, and responsibilities of this position. The estimated good faith salary range for this position is $745,000- $815,000
