Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the inaugural Director of the Center for Research and Health Innovation (CRHI), providing strategic and clinical leadership to advance research excellence, translational science, and innovative care models across the enterprise. This transformational role will shape a dynamic and collaborative research community, advancing world-class science, education, and community engagement across an integrated academic medical center and health system.
The CRHI will house interdisciplinary research spanning preclinical, clinical, community, and population health domains and will foster collaboration across multiple institutional entities. The Center will also build relationships with entrepreneurs, public policy experts, and philanthropic leaders to broaden its reach and resources. The inaugural Director is charged with bringing together existing research capabilities at WMCHealth and New York Medical College (NYMC). The CRHI will assemble and integrate resources across the health system and the medical school to advance patient-oriented research and provide a unified support network for investigators and study participants. The Inaugural Director will lead the planning and development of the Institute and play a leading role in shaping its future direction.
Under the Director's leadership, the Center will drive and expand research activity across all health system campuses, elevating academic excellence, launching extramural funding initiatives, accelerating clinical trial activity, and generating technology innovation to improve health outcomes. The Director will also play a central role in inspiring and developing the next generation of investigators, leaders, and innovators. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in research with a strong history of extramural funding, knowledge of regulatory requirements, and a demonstrated record of creating and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary research teams at scale.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will be established clinician-scientists with the authority, influence, and administrative acumen necessary to promote translational and clinical research at the local, regional, and national levels. Candidates must possess the knowledge, leadership, and organizational capabilities required to direct complex, multi-faceted research programs.
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine from an accredited and approved school of medicine.
- Relevant board certification.
- Ability to obtain New York State Physician license.
- Eligibility for appointment as associate or full professor.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in clinical research, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- A distinguished record of scholarly productivity, preferably with a history of strong extramural funding.
- Engagement with academic and professional societies at the national level.
