The Renewable Thermal Collaborative (RTC) is a U.S.-headquartered, globally focused nonprofit dedicated to decarbonizing industrial thermal energy use with renewable solutions. RTC convenes a vibrant community of more than 100 major industrial heat users and leading clean heat solution providers to accelerate renewable thermal technology deployment and decarbonize industry by catalyzing peer learning, developing technical resources, analyzing markets, and advocating for policy.
RTC Members include industrial and institutional thermal energy users across manufacturing sectors such as automotive, building materials, chemicals, consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and pulp and paper. RTC Solutions Providers include a wide range of clean heat experts, including renewable thermal technology developers, financing specialists, consultants, utilities, and more.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the RTC at a pivotal inflection point, transitioning from a successful coalition model housed across partner organizations to a fully independent, scaled nonprofit enterprise poised for significant expansion and global impact. Building on eight years of demonstrated success, the CEO will advance the organization’s mission, and drive the strategic growth, financial sustainability, and operational excellence of the RTC.
The CEO will serve as:
- A visionary strategist, shaping RTC’s long-term direction and market positioning
- A builder and operator, establishing internal systems, structure, and organizational capacity
- An external ambassador and revenue generator, cultivating strategic partnerships and funding opportunities for sustainable growth
- A coalition builder and convener, aligning diverse stakeholders across industries and sectors
- An industry catalyst, elevating RTC’s brand and influence through global programs and initiatives
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will oversee all aspects of the RTC’s strategy, operations, and expansion. They will be supported by existing staff members of partner organizations and external consultants and will work in close partnership with the Board to develop an operational playbook, including team structure.
