Lafayette College, a highly selective, private, coeducational college in Easton, Pennsylvania, seeks a seasoned, dynamic, and highly collaborative leader to serve as the next Vice President for Communications and Marketing. Reporting to the President, and serving on her cabinet, the Vice President oversees the College’s brand, communications and marketing strategies, internal and external communications, digital and print outreach portfolios, media relations, and crisis communications. The Vice President leads a multifaceted, proactive, and award-winning communications and marketing team of 25 that generates high-quality content for the College and proactively advances a consistent, engaging, and elevated public image of the institution. This is a very exciting time at Lafayette. The College’s new comprehensive strategic plan is now in the implementation phase as the institution celebrates the 200th anniversary of its founding. A comprehensive campaign also will launch in the immediate years ahead.
The Vice President for Communications and Marketing will be a highly skilled and deeply experienced communications and marketing leader with a proven ability to identify and seize opportunities to elevate the College’s profile and advance its mission while anticipating issues and threats to its brand, reputation, and outreach effectiveness. The VP will be adept at managing and mentoring staff to maximize their contributions to the team and at setting and achieving key objectives that deepen the division’s contributions to the College’s visibility and engagement with its on- and off-campus constituencies. The Vice President will be a leader of vision and integrity, a change agent of demonstrated expertise and conscientiousness, and will provide the creativity and energy to advance Lafayette’s institutional strategy, admissions goals, fundraising initiatives, community standing, and crisis management capabilities. As a member of the President’s senior leadership team, the Vice President will be an outstanding colleague who is committed personally to collaboration and to leading impactful and innovative cross-College communications and marketing efforts.
