Tanuja Dehne brings a distinctive “inside the boardroom” perspective as a corporate lawyer, operating executive, CHRO, chief of staff, nonprofit CEO, and independent director, allowing her to bridge governance theory with practical boardroom execution. She is a nationally recognized governance thought leader and faculty member for the National Association of Corporate Directors Board Advisory Services. Her contributions to the practice and evolution of governance were recognized by the National Association of Corporate Directors, which named her among the 100 most influential leaders in corporate governance.

Tanuja is the former President and CEO of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation and a former C-suite executive of NRG Energy, a Fortune 200 power company. Tanuja’s decades-long career has been a testament to her expertise and versatility. This includes her leadership on corporate and non-profit boards, as well as her work as a subject-matter expert and thought leader in corporate and non-profit governance. Having sat in just about every seat in and around the boardroom, Tanuja shares her expertise and experience as a trusted and credible advisor to boards and C-suite executives.

Tanuja has served on four public company boards and chairs Compensation and Corporate Governance Committees. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Granite Point Mortgage Trust Inc. (NYSE: GPMT) and chairs the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Tanuja is an Executive Fellow at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, where she teaches executives on topics such as organizational transformation, corporate governance, human capital strategy, and pathways to the boardroom.

Widely respected for her expertise in governance and board leadership, she serves in a number of influential board and advisory capacities. She is a Trustee of Lafayette College, Chair of the Advisory Board for Drexel University’s Gupta Governance Institute, and Trustee and Chair of the Governance Committee for the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Women Corporate Directors Nominating and Governance Peer Group and Co-Chair of the organization’s Philadelphia chapter, advancing governance excellence and board effectiveness across industries.
