Role Summary

Search Associates are integral members of a fast-paced, collaborative team. Their primary responsibility is to drive the identification, development, and engagement of candidates on behalf of our clients. Search Associates play a critical role in the search process, partnering closely with colleagues in Research to develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned searches.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Candidate Pipeline Development 

  • Proactively identify talent and generate referrals through outreach efforts, including calls, LinkedIn, email, and engagement with key connectors
  • Conduct candidate interviews with a thoughtful and mature approach, assessing key accomplishments, core competencies, organizational and cultural fit, and overall career narrative against client requirements
  • Manage candidate relationships by maintaining consistent communication and providing timely updates on search status, fostering trust and a seamless search experience
  • Work closely with Research colleagues to develop targeted candidate outreach lists and execute advanced research across a range of public and private sources, including internal databases, LinkedIn Recruiter, social media platforms, publications, and other web-based resources
  • Partner with one or more Managing Directors to regularly evaluate progress of assigned searches and act as a thought-partner with them to identify and implement changes in search strategy if necessary

Client Engagement & Support

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the search process, skillfully executing multiple searches simultaneously
  • Support the execution of client constituent interviews during the needs assessment and search launch phases
  • Participate in client check-in calls, interview debriefs, and other meetings, providing updates on candidate pipeline status as needed

Search Logistics Support 

  • With direction from the search lead, ensure timely and appropriate interactions with clients and candidates.
  • Work collaboratively with search team members to meet short-and-long-term goals for searches, including a prompt launch, timely sourcing, detailed metric tracking, and efficient closing
  • Update and maintain search data metrics and candidate statuses throughout the search process

 Firm Engagement

  • Develop professional work habits that are guided by high standards and efficiency
  • Seek out and be receptive to feedback and coaching from the search lead and other team members, with evidence of professional growth and improvement
  • Enhance the firm’s competitive intelligence by utilizing our proprietary database and external data sources

Qualifications

This person will possess exceptional project management and communications skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.

Additionally, the Search Associate will possess the following qualities, skills, and characteristics:

  • Ability to manage and execute on a number of diverse projects simultaneously; comfort with ambiguity and making progress amidst competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, including the ability to conduct recruiting calls and behavioral interviews
  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to produce compelling, candidate outreach and client-facing search documents
  • Superb attention to detail with a strong customer service orientation
  • Skilled at managing up and anticipating needs as well as the ability to adjust to different work and communication styles. Entrepreneurial mindset, with proven ability to self-direct, be proactive, and take initiative
  • High degree of political and interpersonal savvy; ability to work across a broad spectrum of client organizations and cultures
  • The professional judgment required to represent DSG Global and its clients well when communicating with executive candidates and clients
  • Excellent and adaptable team-player; a willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team move forward and ensure client satisfaction
  • Strong research skills; previous research experience preferred (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter)
  • Positive, “can-do” attitude
