Westminster University seeks an accomplished, strategic, and highly collaborative financial and operations leader to serve as its next Chief Financial and Operations Officer (CFOO). Reporting directly to the President and serving as a key advisor to the President, Board of Trustees, and senior leadership team, the CFOO will provide the financial insight, operational leadership, and strategic perspective needed to advance the University’s long-term strength and sustainability.

The CFOO will join Westminster at an important inflection point. With significant work underway to strengthen financial discipline and administrative infrastructure, a new strategic plan taking shape, and a $205 million comprehensive campaign on the horizon, the University is poised to move from stabilization toward strategic investment, growth, and innovation. The next leader will have the opportunity to build on this foundation while helping Westminster think boldly and creatively about its future, strengthen its operations and financial position, and align its resources with its mission and institutional priorities.

The CFOO will bring deep expertise in financial strategy and management while serving as a broad-based institutional leader. The portfolio encompasses finance, human resources, facilities, risk, safety and security, and other administrative functions, providing the CFOO with an unusually broad opportunity to influence the University’s effectiveness. The successful candidate will strengthen business processes and systems, establish appropriate policies and controls, and ensure that Westminster has the infrastructure and discipline necessary to support its academic and student-centered mission.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished financial and operational leader who combines sophisticated financial expertise with exceptional relational and communication skills. They will bring the judgment and credibility to advise the President and Board on complex financial and strategic matters, while also possessing the humility, curiosity, and collaborative instincts to engage effectively with a diverse higher education community. Strong candidates will bring an entrepreneurial mindset and the creativity to identify new sources of revenue, investment, and institutional value, coupled with the discipline to assess risk and ensure that bold ideas are financially sustainable. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to explain complex financial and operational matters clearly, listen actively, build trust, and engage stakeholders with differing perspectives.
