The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone is the CIA’s flagship West Coast campus in Napa Valley, combining world-class culinary education with hospitality, events, retail, and public-facing experiences within the historic Greystone Cellars property. Home to the CIA’s culinary and baking degree programs, the campus blends academic excellence with industry engagement and destination-driven guest experiences. The General Manager of Greystone serves as the campus’s senior business and operational leader, responsible for driving strategic direction, commercial performance, and the overall campus experience in close partnership with academic leadership. Reporting to the Provost, the GM oversees non-degree revenue growth, operational execution, and market positioning while fostering an environment that supports students, faculty, staff, guests, and external partners. The role requires a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial leader who can balance institutional stewardship with hospitality-driven business leadership to strengthen Greystone’s position as both a premier learning environment and a globally recognized culinary destination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Greystone’s strategy, growth, and market positioning in alignment with CIA priorities
  • .Oversee campus operations, financial performance, and non-degree revenue streams, including events, partnerships, and guest experiences.
  • Partner with academic leadership to align operations with student experience and instructional priorities
  • .Build and lead high-performing teams while fostering accountability, collaboration, and hospitality excellence
  • Elevate guest experience and service standards to strengthen Greystone’s position as a premier culinary destination.
  • Cultivate industry and community partnerships while collaborating closely with the Copia GM on shared Napa Valley strategy and growth.
Candidate Profile
  • Senior hospitality, experiential, or higher education leader with deep operational and cross-functional leadership experience.
  • Proven track record driving P&L performance, revenue growth, and operational excellence in complex environments.
  • Strategic, entrepreneurial executive with strong commercial, financial, and partnership leadership capabilities.
  • Skilled at building high-performing teams, influencing stakeholders, and leading in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
  • Preferred experience includes luxury hospitality, destination venues, property management, and entrepreneurial leadership.
  • Success measured by leadership impact, guest and student experience, revenue growth, profitability, and campus positioning.

Salary of $250,000 per year
