Westchester Medical Center Health Network and New York Medical College are seeking a Chair for the Department of Radiology. The Chair of the Department serves in a dual leadership role for both the academic health center as well as being the Director of Service at WMCHealth, with a full-time faculty appointment in good standing with New York Medical College (NYMC) and professional employment within Westchester Medical Center, Advanced Physician Services, P.C. per institutional policies and procedures. In the role of Chair of the Department, the Chair reports directly to the Dean of New York Medical College (NYMC) School of Medicine (SOM) and to the Chief Clinical Officer of WMCHealth.

As Chair of Radiology at WMCHealth, the placement will oversee all radiology operations, guide the Department’s progressive growth, and encourage an evidence-based multidisciplinary approach that ensures high quality patient-centered care. The Chair will have system-wide responsibilities, with a significant focus on continued network integration and growth. As Chair of Radiology at NYMC, this role also has oversight of all academic and teaching components for the Department of Radiology at Westchester Medical Center, Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, MidHudson Regional Hospital, and all members of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth).

The Chair of Radiology at NYMC/WMCHealth is responsible for the performance of all aspects of the clinical, educational, and research missions in the Department of Radiology, in partnership with clinical and administrative colleagues across the WMCHealth executive leadership structure. In collaboration with leadership from New York Medical College and Westchester Medical Center, the Chair will work to align faculty in the NYMC Department of Radiology with WMC to deliver highly coordinated care across the network in a robust education and research culture.

Required Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Board certification in diagnostic radiology.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of New York.
  • Current clinical activity and a reputation as an outstanding clinician.
  • Advanced leadership training and/or MBA preferred.


Knowledge and Work Experience

  • Extensive experience working with best-in-class clinical and administrative technology in support of radiology; understanding of emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence and best practices in utilizing new technologies to improve both care efficiency and clinical quality.
  • Seven to ten years of significant leadership responsibility, including clinical operations and financial management; nuanced understanding of both ambulatory and hospital operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and build academic programs in education and research.
  • Ability to operate the department in strict compliance with the highest standards of radiation safety and protection and ensure that all necessary certifications and licenses are obtained. 
  • National reputation in their field.
  • Successful track record of leadership and results within an academic center or complex health care system.
  • Organizational credibility and the demonstrated ability to create followership.
  • Qualifies for academic appointment as Full Professor of Radiology at New York Medical College.

Compensation

Compensation arrangements are competitive and will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and achievements, and responsibilities of this position. The estimated good faith salary range for this position is $700,000- $850,000.
