The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly skilled Executive Director to lead the development of this organization from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader to shape the direction, operations, and culture of Homeowners of Tomorrow Alliance in its initial stages. As a foundational hire, the Executive Director will be responsible for creating the core strategy that will define HoTA’s impact on homeownership affordability and climate resilience in the future.
The Executive Director will be responsible for establishing the Alliance's foundational structure, organizing and developing both practical short-term and aspirational long-term goals, developing an effective Board of Directors, and analyzing and addressing organizational gaps to transition the Alliance into a fully operational and effective entity. This will involve the creation of a strategic plan and creating metrics to evaluate the success and impact of the Alliance's initiatives, ensuring that all efforts are aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
The Executive Director will also be responsible for establishing and overseeing a research agenda focused on advancing new solutions to the impact of climate resilience and adaptation on home affordability, ensuring that they are backed by data and informed by expert knowledge. This will involve working closely with universities and other research partners, policymakers, industry leaders, and other stakeholders to advocate for legislative, regulatory, and industry changes that support the Alliance's mission. By raising awareness about the urgent need to address the impacts of severe weather on home affordability at conferences and other forums, the Executive Director will help to educate the public and stakeholders about the importance of this issue, promoting a collaborative approach to addressing this complex challenge.
The Executive Director will be expected to stay abreast of emerging trends and research in the field, using this knowledge to inform the Alliance's strategy and ensure that its efforts remain targeted and effective. This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader to help establish Homeowners of Tomorrow Alliance as a leading voice in the national conversation about home affordability and climate resilience.
Candidate Profile
The Executive Director must possess a unique blend of leadership acumen, strategic vision, and passion for creating impactful change in the realm of housing affordability and climate resilience. An entrepreneur at heart, with experience working in early-stage ventures and an innovative approach to business planning, this person will have demonstrated experience translating vision into actionable goals. This candidate will have a deep understanding of the complex issues surrounding home affordability, including the socio-economic and environmental factors that contribute to this crisis. They will bring exceptional communication and relationship building skills, a problem-solving approach and relevant education in business, public policy or nonprofit management.
Compensation and Benefits
As a new organization, Homeowners of Tomorrow Alliance will be incubated at SageSure and the Executive Director will be hired by that entity initially. SageSure offers a competitive salary based on experience and skills, as well as an excellent benefits package. The estimated annual salary range for the Executive Director is $190,000 - $210,000 with the ability to increase for an ideal candidate. The exact salary will be dependent upon experience and location.
