Now a Managing Associate, Danielle Mebert joined DSG | Storbeck as a Senior Search Associate, bringing with her two decades’ worth of experience in secondary and higher education. Prior to joining Storbeck, Danielle spent eight years in various roles at New York University, most recently as the inaugural Manager, Academic Advising for the BFA in Film and Television Production at Tisch School of the Arts, where she laid the foundation of the department’s first professional academic advising office. She began her career in education as a middle school English Language Arts teacher.

Danielle is driven by a combination of intellectual curiosity, a passion for connecting talent with opportunity, and the satisfaction of shaping the leadership of colleges and universities. She’s motivated by the challenge of deeply understanding an institution’s needs—its strategy, culture, and future vision—and finding the right individual who can elevate and lead through complexity. She derives a strong sense of purpose from helping institutions thrive by placing transformative leaders, as well as a human element in guiding candidates through pivotal career transitions. Ultimately, it’s the blend of strategic impact, relationship-building, and the hunt for exceptional talent that fuels her passion, success, and fulfillment.

Since joining DSG | Storbeck, she has helped to place exceptional candidates in both academic and operational roles at a variety of institutions including Whitman College, Colby College, the University of Denver, Brown University, St. Olaf College, Johns Hopkins University, the College of New Jersey, Bucknell University, and within the University of Texas and Indiana University systems.

When she’s not chatting up candidates or consulting with clients, you can probably find Danielle reading, knitting, crocheting, or on the tennis court. She is a proud Korean-American adoptee, first generation college graduate, and lifelong New Yorker who lives in the Bronx with her husband and two rescue cats.
