Tanuja M.

Tanuja Dehne is an independent director with a strong passion for and focus on good governance. She is the former President and CEO of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation and a former C-suite executive of NRG Energy, a Fortune 200 power company. She is a purpose-driven leader, cultivator of talent, and proven strategist. Tanuja is an award-winning corporate and finance lawyer, former CHRO, and community volunteer.

Tanuja’s decades-long career has been a testament to her expertise and versatility. This includes her leadership on corporate and non-profit boards, as well as her work as a subject-matter expert and thought leader in corporate and non-profit governance. Having sat in just about every seat in and around the boardroom, Tanuja shares her expertise and experience as a trusted and credible advisor to boards and C-suite executives.

Tanuja has served on four public company boards and chairs Compensation and Corporate Governance Committees. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Granite Point Mortgage Trust Inc. (NYSE: GPMT) and chairs the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Tanuja is an Executive Fellow at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, where she teaches executives on topics such as organizational transformation, corporate governance, and human capital strategy. She is also a faculty member for NACD’s Board Advisory Services.

An active community member, Tanuja has volunteered her expertise on several non-profit boards and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Lafayette College and as Chair of the Advisory Board of Drexel University’s Gupta Governance Institute. Her contributions to the practice and evolution of governance were recognized by the National Association of Corporate Directors, which named her among the 100 most influential leaders in corporate governance.
