The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) faculty at the assistant professor, associate professor, or professor rank. Clinical assignments are shared over three physical locations. Hospital service includes rounding on antepartum patients, consults, and procedures including cerclage. The Center for Maternal and Fetal Care is UMMC’s multidisciplinary referral center for fetuses suspected to have anomalies or complications. Support at the Center for Maternal and Fetal Care includes dedicated patient navigator, two genetic counselors, palliative care, pediatric cardiology, neonatology, and all pediatric subspecialties at UMMC. There are 3 GE Voluson Expert 22 ultrasound machines at this location. All ultrasound reporting is prepared with AS Software. EPIC EMR is used at all locations.
The Women’s Specialty clinic is located four miles from the University Hospital and houses clinics for MFM, Urogynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, as well as the Pediatric Gynecology clinic. There are also three ultrasound rooms for MFM. In this location the team provides standard MFM care with both targeted ultrasound, and maternal medical consultation in co-management with referring providers.
The OB-Gyn Clinic at the University Pavilion is attached to the hospital and serves as the location for the resident subspecialty clinics. On Monday and Thursday of each week MFM faculty staff the OB High Risk clinic providing both ultrasound and longitudinal prenatal care for many of the highest risk women in the state. There are 12 exam rooms and three ultrasounds at this location.
In addition to clinical service there are opportunities to become involved with research. The OB-GYN department coordinates all research through a PhD faculty investigator and a research coordinator. The department is currently active in hiring additional research nurses. Department faculty are also involved with education at the medical student, resident and fellow level.
