AdventHealth Florida—comprising 30 hospitals across the Central, West, and East Florida Divisions— collectively form one of the most comprehensive, faith-based healthcare networks in the Southeastern United States. Guided by the mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ, AdventHealth provides whole-person care that nurtures body, mind, and spirit, combining advanced medicine with compassionate, patient-centered service.
Central Florida Division, which currently has 18 hospitals including the flagship hospital and quaternary referral center in Orlando, is ranked #1 in the state and recognized among the Top 20 hospitals in the Nation, according to U.S. News & World Report. Additionally, the Division offers a dedicated Women’s Hospital and a Children’s Hospital, as well as seven specialty Institutes providing nationally-ranked care, including Cancer, Neurosciences, Cardiovascular, Orthopedics and Transplant, supported by an extensive Research Institute with more than 675 clinical trials and annual studies. Along with its expansive and comprehensive outpatient care network, the Division cares for nearly 6 million patients a year.
West Florida Division, based in Tampa, spans 13 hospitals and over 100 care sites throughout the Tampa Bay, Ocala, and Heartland regions. Anchored by AdventHealth Tampa, it delivers specialized care in cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, women’s health, and surgical services—combining cutting-edge technology with a coordinated, patient-first approach.
East Florida Division, headquartered in Daytona Beach, includes seven hospitals and extensive outpatient and specialty facilities across Flagler, Volusia, and surrounding counties. Anchored by AdventHealth Daytona Beach, it provides high-quality, compassionate care close to home, with excellence in emergency care, cardiovascular services, orthopedics, and women’s health.
Together, these divisions offer a statewide continuum of care that seamlessly integrates hospitals, outpatient services, physician practices, home health, and wellness programs. Through innovation, community engagement, and a commitment to accessibility, AdventHealth Florida empowers patients and communities to live healthier, fuller lives.
The Opportunity
To further integrate and align the continuum of care across the three Florida Divisions, AdventHealth has recently established the Florida Specialty Network (FSN). FSN will function as a centralized, statewide operating model that will strategically align key clinical specialty areas to take advantage of synergies in the markets, leveraging best practices, achieving a higher level of efficiency and standardization, and promoting a culture of innovation.
FSN will have a dyad leadership model that includes a Chief Executive Officer and Chief Physician Executive, with a cascading dyad structure for each clinical specialty area that includes a Vice President & Chief Medical Officer (VP/CMO) and a Vice President of Operations.
The Vice President of Operations, Gastroenterology is the inaugural administrative dyad leader for the statewide GI service. In partnership with the VP/CMO, this role works with market leaders to unify the operations of gastroenterology services across Florida’s three divisions with potential to expand across AdventHealth.
The VP of Operations is accountable for designing and executing specialty-specific operational strategies and business frameworks that drive financial sustainability, optimize resources, expand consumer access, and support long-term growth.
The VP of Operations will also be responsible for serving as a consultant to all other medical groups across AdventHealth to develop gastroenterology specialty specific strategies and clinical standards as it relates to the respective specialty and service line in the context of those markets competitive landscape. The specialty specific playbooks created for clinical integration, to advance quality outcomes, drive innovation, expand consumer access, and sustain growth and financial stability, will be deployed across AdventHealth in appropriate timing with market specific relevance under the leadership of the specialty dyad.
