Boston Children's Health Physicians, New York & Connecticut (BCHP) is seeking a Chief, Pediatric Nephrology. The ideal candidate is a committed physician leader with a strong background in pediatric nephrology clinical practice, healthcare management, medical education, and research. The successful candidate will also be appointed Chief of Pediatric Nephrology at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at WMCHealth (MFCH), and New York Medical College (NYMC), our affiliated medical school, which is part of Touro University.

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology comprises 3 outstanding pediatric nephrologists dedicated to academic medicine, clinical education, and research. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology offers dialysis services, immunotherapy programs, a complete pediatric kidney transplant program, and is actively involved in the Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium and the Chronic Kidney Disease in Children Study (CKiD Study)  The clinicians in this division have a strong dedication to academic medicine, particularly through teaching, research, and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Vision: Set a strategic vision and provide leadership for the Division of Pediatric Nephrology, ensuring alignment with BCHP’s mission and values.
  • Clinical Excellence: Oversee the delivery of comprehensive, compassionate, and high-quality care to pediatric patients. Serve as a clinical resource and provide guidance, ensuring evidence-based practices are followed.
  • Program Development: Lead initiatives to enhance access, improve quality, and implement innovative care models.
  • Quality and Safety: Champion patient safety and quality improvement initiatives within the division. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and lead efforts to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Research and Innovation: Foster a research-friendly environment, providing resources and mentorship to support scholarly activities.
  • Education and Mentorship: Oversee educational programs for fellows, residents, and medical students within the division. Serve as a mentor to junior faculty, promoting professional development and academic growth.
  • Administrative Oversight: Manage the division’s resources, including personnel, budget, and facilities, to ensure efficient operations. Develop strategies for growth, recruitment, and retention of faculty and staff.
  • Team Development: Mentor and support physicians, residents, and staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Clinical practice: maintain an active clinical practice, approximately 0.5 FTE clinical
Qualifications
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within pediatric healthcare
  • Strong communication, organizational, and team-building skills
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare
  • It is expected that the chief will have sufficient academic credentials to be appointed as Associate Professor of Pediatrics or higher at New York Medical College.
Compensation

BCHP offers a competitive compensation package and a stimulating work environment, which includes the following as outlined below:

  • The Good Faith Estimated Annual Salary Range is $275,000 - $300,000
