DSG Global is currently assisting UPMC health system in the recruitment of a Vice President, Access Services. The Vice President, Access Services, is a key member of the senior leadership team within the UPMC Physician Services Division (PSD), reporting directly to the Division’s Chief Operating Officer. PSD provides strategic oversight and operational support to all UPMC medical groups—representing more than 5,000 physicians—including University of Pittsburgh Physicians (UPP), Community Medicine, Inc. (CMI), and other non-hospital–affiliated physician enterprises.
As UPMC continues to standardize, strengthen, and modernize its operations through the development of a unified, technology-enabled management services organization (MSO), the Vice President, Access Services will serve as a critical strategic leader in support of these enterprise-wide initiatives.
Under the direction of UPMC Executive Leadership, the VP will provide strategic vision and operational leadership to transform patient access across systems, processes, and infrastructure. This role is accountable for building a world-class, consumer-centric culture that reflects UPMC’s core values—delivering seamless, compassionate, and efficient access to care while ensuring excellence in patient and physician satisfaction.
Core Job Functions:
- Collaborate with leaders in the design, adoption, and optimization of access-related tools and technology, including, but not limited to Epic optimization, patient communication channels, call center systems, and self-scheduling tools.
- Creates and implements strategic plans focusing on process improvement, upgrades to data sharing and automation.
- Leads initiatives that help standardize clinical and operational policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Partners with administrative and physician leadership to ensure that effective processes are implemented that enhance the patient's experience.
Core Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field and 10 years of experience with 7 years in a management capacity OR
- Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field and 8 years of experience with 7 years in a management capacity OR
- Demonstrated ability to navigate a complex health system and maintain professional and productive relationships with all levels of physicians and staff.
