The Vice Provost & Dean of Undergraduate Education provides campuswide leadership in sustaining and enhancing the quality of the undergraduate academic experience at UC Santa Cruz. The Vice Provost & Dean offers strategic direction to advance undergraduate academic success, provide high-impact learning opportunities, broaden student access and pathways to the campus, and shape academic policies that support student retention and achievement.

 

The Vice Provost & Dean collaborates closely with disciplinary deans, Academic Senate committees, and the Division of Student Affairs and Success to improve student outcomes, foster academic belonging and engagement, and deliver a holistic, student-centered academic experience. The Vice Provost & Dean oversees a multidivisional shared services unit, the college provosts, who lead the academic component of UCSC’s college experience, the Educational Partnership Center, Summer Session, Academic Advising, the Academic Integrity Office, and Global Engagement.

 

Reporting directly to the Campus Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor, the Vice Provost & Dean of Undergraduate Education serves as the principal liaison between campus administration and the Academic Senate regarding undergraduate academic matters.


The anticipated salary range for the role is currently $310,000 to $350,000, commensurate with experience. UC Santa Cruz also offers a highly competitive and comprehensive benefits package.
