Piedmont Macon offers expert care at two hospitals, Piedmont Macon Medical Center, a 310-bed teaching hospital, and Piedmont Macon North Hospital with 103 beds, as well as two urgent care centers and an occupational medicine center. Having served Middle Georgia for more than 50 years, Piedmont Macon takes pride in providing outstanding patient-centered care.

The Chief Medical Officer for Piedmont Macon will be a dynamic, quality-focused, and collaborative physician leader responsible for:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains all essential medical services and clinical operations and assures conformance to standards set by the Board and Executive Management Team and governmental regulations.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for Best Practices for medical services and clinical operations.
  • Represents hospital at medical society, agency, and other professional meetings.
  • Works with leadership to define performance standards and evaluation, oversight and review process.
  • Lead quality agenda for the hospital.
  • Aides with staffing and qualification reviews for physician needs in all medical service departments.
  • Aides in organizational short-term and long-term strategic planning and provides recommendations based on current operations and improvement opportunities.

Ideal candidates will be:

  • Licensed or be able to become licensed in the state of Georgia.
  • Board certified in a specialty recognized by the ABMS required.
  • Masters prepared/MBA MHA, MPH, preferred.
  • Previous experience as Hospital CMO, or position enforcing policy, bylaws is strongly preferred.
