Chief Development Officer
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.
Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity, Chief Development Officer
About Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity, Chief Development Officer
URGE is a Reproductive Justice organization driven by young people, for young people. We are creating a world where we all can live with the justice, freedom, safety, and joy we deserve.
URGE centers the leadership of young people 18-30 years old, including women, people of color, immigrants, LGBTQIA+ people, and people working to make ends meet and infuses Reproductive Justice principles and values throughout our work. Working across the progressive landscape, URGE works together to build strong communities where sexual health is valued, Reproductive Justice is sacrosanct, and each body is celebrated and supported.
As a state-driven national organization, URGE organizes our communities, provides a political home for young people, advocates for meaningful policy change, and shifts culture, working in states where the challenges and opportunities are greatest.
If you are ready to bring your whole self into the fight for justice, URGE will have your back every step of the way. Now is the time to discover your power, claim the conversation, and build your movement.

The Opportunity
URGE seeks an energetic and proactive leader to serve as Chief Development Officer (CDO) and head of the Development Department. Reporting directly to the Executive Director and collaborating closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the Executive Leadership Team, the CDO oversees all aspects of resource development, data management, and board relations. The Chief Development Officer is responsible for all fundraising efforts and initiatives (for an annual budget of $10 - $15 million) and at times will need to be a player-coach, an individual who can bring their relationships and skillsets to enhance URGEs revenues from foundations, corporations, high-net-worth donors, and potentially government agencies. A core charge of the Chief Development Officer is to build and lead URGEs development operations with strategic sophistication and best practice discipline. In addition, they will need to be able to mentor people up or out, hire and train a highly functioning team, and can create a long-term development strategy. This is a remarkable opportunity for a committed, forward-thinking and experienced leader.
URGE envisions a world where all people have agency over their own bodies and relationships and the power, knowledge, and tools to exercise that agency. Working with young people ages 18–30, we provide training, field mobilization, and national leadership to move policy, systemic, and cultural change—and win real victories for campuses and communities. At the core of URGE’s mission are our values and a commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, disrupting anti-Blackness and dismantling white supremacy. We seek candidates whose values align with those of our organization.
