St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children, Director of Individual and Major Gifts, Dorchester, MA
About St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children
St. Mary’s Center, a multi-service organization supporting women and families, believes shelter is not enough to erase the devastation of cyclical poverty and homelessness. Grounded in social justice, we empower families to achieve emotional stability and economic independence through education, workforce development, and permanent housing.
Since its founding in 1993, St. Mary’s Center has strategically adapted to meet community needs and now supports over 500 of Boston’s most vulnerable women, children, and families annually, working to address root causes of family homelessness. With our main campus on the site of the old St. Margaret’s Hospital in Dorchester, St. Mary’s Center builds on a rich history of supporting young mothers and their children in Dorchester that dates to the 1870s.
Through a continuum of wraparound services—including shelter, clinical and educational programming, workforce development, and permanent housing—St. Mary’s Center empowers families to achieve emotional well-being, educational success, and economic independence. Grounded in equity and compassion, the Center is a beacon of hope and transformation, providing trauma-informed care and strengths-based support that helps women and children break cycles of poverty and create brighter futures. With a dedicated staff and strong community partnerships, St. Mary’s Center continues to be a trusted leader in advancing long-term, systemic solutions to family homelessness in Greater Boston.
