Davidson College, a premier liberal arts institution in North Carolina seeks a collaborative and experienced financial leader to serve as the next Controller. As Davidson’s accounting and reporting officer, the Controller will play a key strategic role to support the University’s continued excellence in serving faculty, staff, and students. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is trusted advisor with strong technical expertise in financial operations and a forward-thinking approach to business strategy and budget development. As a collaborative financial leader, they will work with campus constituents and leadership to ensure the delivery of excellence in financial operations.
The Controller's Office at Davidson College is responsible the institution's financial operations and serves as a resource for faculty, staff, and students and families, offering guidance on financial policies and procedures. Reporting to the Vice President for Finance, Administration and CFO, the Controller oversees a team of 11 and serves as the financial hub of the College. Oversight of the Controller includes accounting, budgeting, banking, accounts receivable, accounts payable, short-term investments and cash management, endowment accounting, internal and external financial reporting and projections, college-wide audits, internal financial and operational controls, payroll and tax reporting and compliance. Under their leadership, the Controller is responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial operations of the college. The controller facilitates the preparation financial statements and ensures compliance with financial regulations and alignment with GAAP. The office also supports the budgeting processes.
