About Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council
As the founding and oldest affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Chicago Regional Purchasing Council DBA Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council (“ChicagoMSDC”) is a 501(c)(3) nationally recognized leader in the field of minority business development and economic empowerment. First in the nation, ChicagoMSDC was the model other cities adopted to chart councils of their own. Today, the ChicagoMSDC is one of 23 affiliates of the NMSDC.
ChicagoMSDC was founded on two fundamental principles: there had to be a partnership between minority business, corporate America and government, and there had to be basic fairness in the marketplace for all.
Looking Ahead
The ChicagoMSDC continues to explore innovative ways to expand and better serve its network.
Moving forward the ChicagoMSDC will seek different ways to engage with businesses, reach new partners and boost certified companies. One of its goals is to maximize its impact and collaborative success by ensuring its services remain relevant and evolve with the business landscape in a tech-driven world.
The ChicagoMDSC views itself as the growth engine for minority and small businesses in the Chicagoland region. As such, the ChicagoMSDC is embarking on the development of a new strategic plan. The new strategic plan will include improved goals for communications, technology, data, and metrics as a foundation for strategic priorities and processes for buyer and seller connectivity.
In partnership with all of the ChicagoMDSC’s constituents, the next President & CEO will prioritize showcasing minority and small businesses, including documentation and analysis of the economic impact and job creation within these communities.
In addition, the next President & CEO will mentor, grow and invest in the ChicagoMSDC’s knowledgeable and talented staff, while fostering a culture that is result-oriented, supportive and progressive. Courageous leadership is critical in this next chapter of the ChicagoMSDC to accelerate and sustain change in business diversity. The next leader of the ChicagoMSDC will be accountable for leading from the front to drive outcomes and building upon a solid foundation to support existing, emerging, and future generations of thriving minority and small businesses.
