Catholic Health is actively recruiting for the President of Kenmore Mercy and Mount St. Mary’s Hospitals, located in the Buffalo area.  Catholic Health is a non-profit healthcare system providing care to Western New Yorkers across a network of hospitals (six campuses with over 1,000 beds), nursing homes, home care agencies, physician practices, and other community-based ministries. The System has operating revenue of $1.6B, approximately 10,000 employees, and has been named among the Top 100 integrated healthcare systems in the country by SDI.  Catholic Health is affiliated with the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Kenmore Mercy Hospital, founded in 1951, is a 184-bed, Magnet Designated hospital that provides comprehensive healthcare services to the residents of Kenmore, Tonawanda, Amherst, North Buffalo and surrounding communities. A Leapfrog Grade A hospital for 22 consecutive years, Kenmore Mercy was also one of only 35 hospitals in the country, and the only one in NY State, to receive Leapfrog’s “Top General Hospital” designation.

Mount St. Mary’s Hospital is a 175-bed licensed acute care facility serving Lewiston and Niagara County. In 2025, the hospital was recognized by The Leapfrog Group as a Top Hospital for quality and patient safety, receiving a Leapfrog A designation.  In addition to the main campus in Lewiston, Mount St. Mary’s includes a second campus in Lockport, Lockport Memorial Hospital, which opened in the fall of 2023.   Lockport Memorial offers comprehensive inpatient (10 beds), outpatient, diagnostic, emergency and primary care services.

Reporting to the EVP and Chief Operating Officer of Catholic Health, this president has operational responsibility for the safe and high-quality delivery of acute clinical, diagnostic, ancillary and other operational services provided across the respective operations. The President will be a collaborative leader, comfortable and accustomed to working in a highly matrixed, team-oriented environment and culture.

Key Selection Criteria for this position includes the following:  

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership and operations experience in a healthcare system and/or in a complex matrix environment with a track record of having met financial, operational, and other organizational goals.
  • An innovator who will bring new and different ideas to Catholic Health.
  • Prior experience in a union environment is not required but will be seen favorably.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience:  the range for this role is $252,427.00 - $378,631.00 USD.   In addition, this executive will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus, retirement, and additional benefits.
