The Opportunity

City of Hope seeks an accomplished executive to assume the role of Market President, leading the delivery of world-class care for cancer and related diagnoses across the Phoenix metropolitan market and the broader Arizona service area. Reporting to Robert Stone, Chief Executive Officer of City of Hope, this position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to assume direct ownership and accountability for the organization’s strategic direction and performance within the market. The Market President will serve as the public face of City of Hope in the community and play a critical role in developing and executing strategies that support growth, innovation, and excellence aligned with the organization’s mission.

Originally opened in 2008 through Cancer Treatment Centers of America, the Phoenix campus was acquired by City of Hope in 2022 to expand its national leadership in cancer care, clinical trials, research, and discovery into the Arizona market. Today, through continued investment, City of Hope Phoenix includes a 38-bed comprehensive cancer center hospital in Goodyear, Arizona (just west of downtown Phoenix), along with three outpatient care centers offering infusion and radiation oncology services in Gilbert, North Phoenix, and Scottsdale. Together, these facilities generate more than $300 million in annual net patient revenue.

Patients benefit from access to nationally recognized experts in blood, breast, lung, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, prostate, and skin cancers, each offering advanced treatment options and innovative, team-based approaches to care. As part of one of the largest and most successful bone marrow transplantation (BMT) programs in the country, City of Hope Cancer Center Phoenix has made significant advances in blood cancer care. Renowned hematologic oncologists treat leukemia, myeloma, and rare blood cancers using advanced therapies and clinical trials unique to City of Hope Phoenix. In addition, physicians and researchers rapidly translate scientific discoveries from the laboratory to the bedside through close collaboration with the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), also part of City of Hope and located in Phoenix.
