Bucknell University invites nominations and applications for the inaugural position of Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (E&I). Reporting directly to the Associate Provost for Research and Creative Inquiry, the Director will work closely with the faculty and staff engaged in Bucknell’s ecosystem for entrepreneurship and innovation, the Deans and Associate Deans of the three Colleges, the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, and other relevant stakeholders within the campus and greater Lewisburg communities to oversee the establishment of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Established in 1846 as the University at Lewisburg, Bucknell University was renamed in 1886 in honor of William Bucknell, an institutional benefactor. Bucknell stewards more than 450 acres of campus property and maintains 150 buildings, the oldest of which dates back to 1840; the newest, West Campus Apartments, were completed in summer 2023, with two more apartment buildings scheduled to open in 2024. Most students live on campus all four years, fostering a vibrant, close-knit living and learning community.

The Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation will work across the institution to lead this unique, interdisciplinary Center. The Director will assist members of the faculty and staff to organize programming (including possibly offering formal or informal classes and content related to their entrepreneurship/innovation area of expertise) and identify and develop relevant experiential opportunities for students. The Director will work with relevant University stakeholders to attract additional resources to support the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, and they will work to encourage the growth and reach of the ecosystem at Bucknell in line with the University strategic plan and needs of students, alumni, and the broader campus community.
